Mo’Nique’s comedy special at the Apollo Theatre told more than just jokes.
The “Precious” actress performed a pre-Mother’s Day special at the famed Harlem venue, shedding light on a number of people she sees as obstacles in her career.

Two years ago, Mo’Nique blamed a falling out with “Scandal” director Lee Daniels for her black-balling from Hollywood — but he’s not the only one.
After winning an Oscar for her role in “Precious”, the entertainer failed to thank Daniels during her acceptance speech. She told “Good Morning America” Daniels professionally boycotted her afterward to teach her a lesson about not thanking him.
“No, I was not black-balled,” Mo’Nique joked at recent comedy gig. “I was white-balled by some black d**ks who had no balls. Thank you, Mr. Lee Daniels. Thank you, Mr. Tyler Perry. Thank you, Ms. Oprah Winfrey.”

“And see, I know they like to say, ‘Mo’Nique, you talk too motherf**king much.’ It would kill me not to say the real s**t,” she continued.
“You are not treating me fairly, so y’all can suck my d**k if I had one.”
On Monday’s edition of “The Talk”, co-host Sheryl Underwood — who says she’s a friend of Monique — addressed the situation, admitting that she’s “concerned” for her.
“Mo’Nique gave me one of my first jobs… I feel this is unfortunate because we love Lee Daniels and what he’s doing, we love Tyler Perry, we love Oprah Winfrey, and if there is a way for us to settle this… she’s an amazing actress and an amazing comic — so somehow we have to settle this together… and the hard part about this is other people make demands and they still get the work,” said Underwood.
“I’m not saying I agree with what she did,” she added, “I’m saying I’m concerned about my friend right now.” Watch:
