Iconic rocker Chris Cornell suddenly passed away at the age of 52 on Wednesday night and the music world is now in mourning.

The Soundgarden frontman had just finished a soldout show with the band in Detroit and was found dead in his hotel room following the show.

Former Audioslave band member Tom Morello shared a touching eulogy for the singer on Instagram:

His peers like Dave Navarro, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry and more have been tweeting their tributes to their friend.

The Seattle native also received a tribute from the Seattle Mariners, with the team announcing they’ll honour Cornell with a minute of silence before their game on Thursday at Safeco Field.
