Geri Halliwell Apologizes For Leaving Spice Girls Almost 20 Years Later

It was 19 years ago yesterday that Geri Halliwell left the Spice Girls in the middle of their world tour.

The world was never the same after Ginger Spice left the group. The girls would continue on for one more record without their other Spice sister, but they soon dismembered.

A Spice Girls fan account, @SpiceGirlsFilm, tweeted out a compilation video of Halliwell’s exit from the group and its repercussions in 1997.

Halliwell noticed the video and retweeted it with an apology.

When she originally left the band, she said in a statement that the difference between her and the other four girls drove her out of the group.

‘Sadly I would like to confirm that I have left the Spice Girls. This is because of differences between us. I’m sure the group will continue to be successful and I wish them all the best,” she had said about her departure.

Fans were very happy Halliwell apologized for it:
