The Foo Fighters Surprise Fans With New ‘Run’ Single And Music Video

After a two-year hiatus, the Foo Fighters have returned with a surprise single and accompanying music video, “Run”.

The new release marks Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee’s first new music since the band gifted fans with their free “Saint Cecilia” EP in late 2015.

In the accompanying video, directed by the band’s lead singer, Grohl, each member is seen wearing elder-inspired prosthetic makeup as they take over a seemingly menacing nursing home in a total rocker rampage.

According to a press release from the band, “Run” is “a monolithic song of the summer shoo-in as melodic as it is monstrously heavy.” The release adds that the new video looks “into the band’s future while building on the rock solid Foo Fighters foundation.”
