Jon Voight and his daughter Angelina Jolie may not always get along, but one thing’s for sure: ol’ pop’s a big fan of her talent.

Speaking at a post-Grammy party on Sunday, the 76-year-old actor gushed about Angie’s recent World War II drama, Unbroken. “I wish she had [been nominated for Best Director], because I think she deserved it,”; Jon said, according to Vulture. “I think her direction is astounding, really astounding, and if she wasn’t my daughter, I’d still say, “I want to work for that one.'”;

He added, “She’s a great actor’s director — the pace of the film, the size of the film. Unbelievably difficult stuff that she accomplished.”;
