Six new captivating dramas and four new coveted comedies join Global’s 23 returning primetime series, boasting a stellar fall lineup for the network. Positioned for another powerhouse fall season with a robust schedule, Global is aiming to continue its streak of having a #1 hit series for drama, reality and comedy for fall 2017.
From unparalleled star power to entertaining and compelling storytelling with a couple of buzz-worthy new series to boot, here’s what you can expect from Global’s new fall schedule.
“Will & Grace”
The unexpected return following their surprise 10-minute election mini-episode has translated into a 12-episode series for “Will & Grace”. The new, ninth season has found a home on Global and will reunite Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes.
Inspired by the 1970s television show and subsequent feature film, the series follows a S.W.A.T. sergeant, played by former “Criminal Minds” star Shemar Moore, and his team as they try to protect the streets of Los Angeles. The series also stars Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, and Jay Harrington.
David Boreanaz makes his return to TV, leading the way in the new military drama “SEAL Team”. The series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALS as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous missions. In the action-packed new drama, these stealthy and fearless warriors conduct high-risk, clandestine missions against impossible odds. And when they return to the homefront they face stress of a different nature. Keeping secrets, deploying at a moment’s notice, and the knowledge that each assignment could be their last takes a toll on them and their families. But their unbreakable oath and patriotism compel them to persevere. The series also stars Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., Jessica Pare, A.J. Buckley, and Toni Trucks.
Another military drama, “The Brave” follows a team of highly trained analysts and Special Ops forces who work together to execute missions in some of the most dangerous places in the world. Led by D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell, played by Anne Heche, the series takes viewers into the heart-pounding complex world of America’s elite undercover military heroes using the most advanced surveillance technology from headquarters in D.C. while Adam Dalton, played by Mike Vogel, leads the team of Special Ops on the ground in an effort to save lives and execute missions.
Global also welcomes the technology drama “Wisdom of the Crowd” starring Jeremy Piven as a visionary tech inventor who creates a crowdsourcing app to solve his daughter’s murder, and “Law & Order: True Crime – The Menendez Murders” starring four-time Emmy Award winner Edie Falco as attorney Leslie Abramson. The gripping dramatization explores the headline-making story of the Menendez brothers and what brought them to kill their parents.
And the good news continues as Global will play host to the new season of one of the most buzzed-about series, the critically acclaimed drama “Mary Kills People”. Greenlit for a second, six-episode series, the show stars Caroline Dhavernas as Dr. Mary Harris, an overworked single mom and ER doctor, who helps terminal patients end their lives on their terms.
