UPDATE (Saturday, Feb. 14, 1:11 p.m.): It’s official! Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are husband and wife, with People confirming the nuptials took place at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in Mottistone, located on the Isle of Wight in England. A reception followed at Mottistone Manor.
The medieval church, reports People, dates from the 12th century:
A local tells People that Mottistone Manor has a special connection to Hunter, who’s related to the family that lives on the estate.
Another local told People that the church is “very pretty,”; but is more suitable to a small wedding than a grand affair. “The church is not that big … I would say maybe 100 people maximum would fit in there,”; they said. “It’s a beautiful setting and very old English, very quaint and pretty.”;
Locals also reveal that the couple brought in their own flowers, cake, and music for the ceremony, and town florists and bakers confirmed they had not been contracted to provide their services for the wedding.
According to onlookers, the ceremony itself was “low-key,”; with a group of about a dozen well-wishers gathering at the church to watch the wedding party arrive.
The Isle of Wight County Press reported that Cumberbatch spent the night before the wedding at the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are going to have the most romantic Valentine’s Day ever, with sources confirming to Us Weekly that the Imitation Game star and his pregnant fiancée are set to tie the knot today.
According to insiders, the nuptials will take place on the Isle of Wight in the U.K., but don’t expect a Kardashian-style media circus when the pair exchange vows. During a red-carpet interview back in November, Cumberbatch said, “I think I’ll be having a very private wedding.”;
The couple met on the set of his 2009 movie Burlesque Fairytales, and announced their engagement with a listing in The Times of London: “Mr B.T. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter,”; the clipping read. “The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London.”;
