Sam Taylor-Johnson’s marriage to art curator Jay Jopling came with its share of problems.

Taylor-Johnson, 50, reflected on her severe alcoholism in a one-on-one with Sunday Times Magazine. “I would drink to blackout most nights,” she said. “I would say I was an alcoholic, I put myself in supremely dangerous situations.”

The “50 Shades” director was married to Jopling from 1997 to 2008, but it was in 2001 that Taylor-Johnson started reevaluating her choices. She began sobering up after recovering from colon and breast cancer.

These days, Taylor-Johnson is happily married to Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is 24 years her junior. Their relationship was scrutinized when they first went public, but the two have two children together and are living the life!
