Jared Leto is a busy guy, Here’s a rock hero, a future comic book villain and currently this week’s hook to buy the latest issue of Billboard.
The Academy Award winner opens up to the mag about juggling his two main gigs of big screen star and frontman for alt rock crusaders 30 Seconds To Mars. Leto tells Billboard that it’s his work in music that pays the bills.
“I’ve never made money from films,”; explains the multi-hyphenate. “It’s a challenge to make money from music these days – that’s one of the reasons I’ve been really entrepreneurial.”;
Leto might make more cash from his role as an arena-filling musician, but we imagine his upcoming gig as The Joker in 2016’s DC Universe film Suicide Squad might provide for a bit of pocket money. The actor/rocker says he’s excited for the challenge of taking on that iconic character.
“The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character — that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right?”; says Leto. “This beautiful disaster of a character — what a big challenge.”;
The complete Billboard interview with Jared Leto can be found on the chart mag’s site and in the February 28 print edition of the publication.
