Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder Was Once Clocked By Sir Paul McCartney

Apparently this Beatle packs a serious punch.

During a guest DJ session for The Beatles Channel on SiriusXM Radio, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder recounts the time he took a hit from Sir Paul McCartney.

According to Eddie, he was with the music icon in a hotel bar in Seattle listening to Paul describe a previous altercation. “He was kind of illustrating how he hit this guy,” the grunge legend says. “When he did that, he shot out his left arm…and I was standing there, and I got hit. He hit me. He didn’t quite pull back the punch, you see.”

Although he can laugh about it now, Eddie admits it was a mean left hook.

“I was thinking, Paul McCartney just hit me in the face, and it hurt! I think I remember tasting a bit of blood…he apologized — quickly — so it wouldn’t get in the way of the story.”
