16-Year-Old ‘America’s Got Talent’ Singer Wows The Judges, Earns Golden Buzzer

Contestant Christian Guardino earned a coveted golden buzzer on “America’s Got Talent”.

The 16-year-old singer surprised the judges and audience on Tuesday’s episode with an incredible performance. Guardino also shared his touching story — he just recently had his vision restored, thanks to gene therapy, as he was blind for most of his life.

Guardino performed the classic “Who’s Loving You” by the Jackson 5 and got a standing ovation from the audience and judges.

“You were like a little mouse that turned into a lion. You are one of my favourite contestants I’ve seen this year,” Cowell said. “Not only in terms of your voice. I just like you. There’s something about you, and it’s just the best possible feeling when we meet someone like you.”

In a twist, judge Howie Mandel used his special golden buzzer, which sent Guardino directly to the live shows.
