Canadian TV personality Jessi Cruickshank is getting candid with ET Canada in an exclusive interview, revealing how she really feels about expecting identical twins later this summer.
While she may be glowing on the outside, the first-time mom says being pregnant with twin feels really “weird” right now.
“Some people are like, ‘You’re glowing! Is this the most beautiful thing you ever experienced?'” the 35-year-old reveals to ET Canada’s Matte Babel. “No. It’s really weird. It’s really weird. There are two human beings growing inside me.”
“The Goods” star reveals she’s due soon -“very soon” – with the identical twins expected late this summer, adding that it was “terrifying” to find out she and her husband were expecting identical twins.
“When we found out that we were having twins, it was not a magical moment. It was like shock and horror and trying not to cry in the doctors office so that children’s services would take me away,” she recalls. “I didn’t expect in a million years I would have two identical children at one time.”
Cruickshank broke the news of her pregnancy via Instagram with a Beyonce-inspired photoshoot.
“My hairdresser took the picture. It was some friends put together the set. We didn’t plan for it to be such a big thing and now that I know that literally millions of people have seen and shared that photo,” she says of the photo that unexpectedly went viral. “If I could go back, I don’t think I would have chosen a photo of myself pregnant in my underpants to be the one that goes viral. It’s a fun picture.”
The busy Cruickshank is used to sharing details of her life to her over 43,000 Instagram followers and is now writing a pregnancy column for Flare magazine. And while the couple knows the sex of the babies, they’re keeping it to themselves. But that hasn’t stopped the couple from brainstorming baby names for both sexes.
“If it were up to my husband it doesn’t matter – boy or girl – we would name it LeBron,” says Cruickshank. “Gender neutral names are a big trend. LeBron could be a very cute red-headed girl.”
Now that Cruickshank copped Beyonce and Jay-Z’s photoshoot, will she reach out to her fellow parents-of-twins, like George and Amal Clooney?
“When you’re having twins you want them to meet other twins. So I figured those are the two couples I should reach out to,” she jokes. “It will be difficult deciding if we should have the playdate at George and Amal’s Italian villa, Bey and Jay’s Beverly Hills compound or my one bedroom apartment but I’m sure we can come to an agreement.”
