Flipping the buddy cop genre on its head, Josh Duhamel and Dean Winters star in Global’s new series “Battle Creek”;.  The duo joined Sangita Patel as co-hosts in the studio on Tuesday’s ET Canada, dishing on their new show and working for creators David Shore, Bryan Singer and Vince Gilligan.

“It’s pretty flattering, I’m sure I’m speaking for the both of us,”; Dean Winters tells Sangita about getting the call he would be starring in the show. “This was like the “get’ this year on television. I think you know when Josh and I both got our respective phone calls and when we saw the scripts and it was David Shore, Bryan Singer and Vince Gilligan.”

Duhamel agrees with his co-star, saying: “Whenever you get a chance to work with guys who are that talented, you know they are going to make you better and that’s what you’re looking for.”; Winters adds, “I mean it was a dream. Just a dream job.”;

Giving a little insight to what the show is all about Duhamel tells Sangita, “It’s a buddy cop show where the two guys aren’t buddies. It’s like if Starsky didn’t like Hutch and so there’s a fresh dynamic there, I think it’s a new take on the genre.”;

Continuing on with the buddy cop theme, Winters tells Sangita he’s “Cagney”; and Duhamel’s “Lacey.”; Josh’s take? “I think it’s more like Turner & Hooch,”; he says pointing to himself as Turner and to Winters as Hooch.

If their dry humour and obvious chemistry doesn’t make you excited about the new series, airing on Global TV Sunday, March 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET, the list of possible guest stars will.

“We have some great guest stars, we’ve got Candice Bergen…and who were we talking about before?”; Winters jokes.”;Daniel Day Lewis,”; says Duhamel, with Winters teasing, “Oh yeah, he was an extra.”;

But what about Josh’s wife, Fergie? “She’s got a cop outfit,”; the actor dishes, blushing.

Earlier in the day, Josh and Dean joined the conversation on The Morning Show, Josh’s impression of John Travolta and his now meme-worthy face cradle with Idina Menzel at the Oscars went viral.
