Stephen Colbert teamed up with “This Is Us” star Milo Ventimiglia to open Friday night’s edition of “The Late Show” by offering a special Father’s Day tribute to a woefully underappreciated subset of fathers who don’t get their due: hot TV dads.

Handsome television dads, declared the straight-faced “Late Show” host, have been “desperately overlooked” at Father’s Day.

“People like me, who play dads on TV — and are hot,” quipped Ventimiglia, who later in the show sat down for an interview with Colbert.

With that, the pair honoured an array of hot TV dads, ranging from Coach Andy Taylor (Kyle Chandler) on “Friday Night Lights” to Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) of “Game of Thrones” to “Bobs Burgers” patriarch Bob Belcher.

During another segment, Colbert enlisted a member of the studio audience to assist him in reading some awful first drafts of Father’s Day cards, including one that read: “Happy Father’s Day! When I grow up I want to be just like dad…  but y’know, without the drinking.”
