Warner Bros. Pictures confirms “The Lego Movie Sequel”;, with its big screen return in 2018 with director Rob Schrab at the helm.

The duo who wrote and directed the original, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are still attached to the project. The team will be writing the movie and serving as producers alongside Dan Lin and Roy Lee.

“We are so excited to collaborate with Rob,”; Miller and Lord said in a joint statement. “No one works harder than Rob, and his aesthetic, combined with his sense of humour, bring a strong, unique, thoughtful, and passionately nerdy voice to this project. People who know him are slapping their foreheads today and saying, ‘Of course!'”

If you’re not familiar with Schrab’s work, the director has worked on a number of comedies including “Community”;, “The Mindy Project”; and “The Sarah Silverman Project”;.

“The Lego Movie Sequel”; will be the third Lego-related film for Warner Bros. A ninja-themed spin-off, “Ninjago”; is set to hit theatres in 2016 with a “Lego Batman”; film to follow in 2017.
