Netflix’s ‘Atypical’ Will Dig Into The Dating Life Of An Autistic Teen, Starring Canadian Keir Gilchrist

Starring Canadian actor Keir Gilchrist as an autistic teen, Netflix’s new series “Atypical” will explore the dating life of Sam Gardener.

The streaming giant dropped a new clip on Monday which teased a scene where Sam and his mother (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh) discuss his decision to jump into a quest for love.

Netflix released a statement about the upcoming show:

“‘Atypical’ is a coming of age story that follows Sam (played by Keir Gilchrist), an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum as he searches for love and independence. While Sam is on his funny yet emotional journey of self-discovery, the rest of his family must grapple with change in their own lives as they all struggle with the central theme: what does it really mean to be normal.”
