Karlie Kloss reigns supreme in the supermodel kingdom, but that doesn’t mean she had an easy ride to the top.
The beautiful model, 24, revealed, “I was called both too fat and too thin by a casting agent on the same day,” the New York Post reports. The startling revelation was made at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The “Bill Nye Saves the World” correspondent noted how she doesn’t let criticism like that phase her. “I don’t want to please anyone but myself,” she said.
Kloss chooses to instead focus on living a healthy lifestyle and working up a sweat: “Just before – all of the nerves or feeling a bit anxious or feeling tired, the best way to combat that in my opinion is by breaking a good sweat,” Kloss previously told Women’s Health. “It’s the best therapy.”
While at the Cannes Lion event, Kloss also campaigned for female designers to make clothing lines more accessible to women of different shapes and sizes.
Fun fact, when Kloss isn’t walking down the runway she’s coding away at her computer. “It definitely isn’t the sexiest thing maybe, computer science, being something I’m so passionate about, but it’s genuine,” said Kloss, the founder of a coding boot camp and scholarship program for young women called Koding with Klossy.
