We all marvel at those who can sing with a great deal of passion and enthusiasm, but a four-year-old girl named Sophia has raised the bar thanks to her way-into-it rendition of a song from the “Moana” soundtrack that became a viral sensation after her mom posted it on Facebook.
In the video, Sophia and other members of her class belt out “How Far I’ll Go” from the animated Disney hit, but she gives her performance a little something extra — including some serious jazz hands that would be the envy of any Tony Awards ceremony.
“She has a huge, huge personality,” Sophia’s mom, Michelle Neshin, told ABC News of her vivacious daughter. “She’s usually spunky and has a corky personality but that was something else even for her. And right before the graduation when it was just about time to walk, she said, ‘I don’t want to do it. I’m so scared. There’s so many people in the audience.’ On the way there she was super excited but when she lined up to get her diploma she was in tears. But she quickly got over that.”
At last count, the video has been viewed more than 13 million times.
“I am still in disbelief that my silly little girl just being her quirky self has had millions of views,” Neshin wrote on Facebook. “Sophia has no idea what all the attention means, but a friend did send her a cookie cake and she thought that was the best thing ever!” Watch:
