‘Big Bang Theory’ Star Mayim Bialik Sprains Vocal Cords, Must Stay Silent For A Month

It’s going to be a long and silent month for Mayim Bialik.

The normally vocal “Big Bang Theory” star has been ordered to give her voice a rest for 30 days after straining her vocal cords.

On Wednesday, the actress and author shared a video on Instagram using her son Miles to give her fans an update. As Bialik typed, Miles read her words out loud: “This is my son, Miles, talking. I sprained my vocal cords and I can’t speak — it really sucks. So we’re having a silent video with me talking.”

“I can’t talk because my vocal cords are sprained,” the actress says. The video has since been removed from her Instagram stories.

She also shared a photo of herself at her ear, nose and throat doctor’s office on Instagram and Twitter, writing, “Me waiting for a check up from my ENT. Can’t speak for a month. Yup.”

The actress, who plays Amy Farrah Fowler on the sitcom “Big Bang Theory”, did not elaborate about how she strained her vocal cords.
