When not hacking down hapless bad guys as Wolverine, actor Hugh Jackman is spending precious time with his wife of 21-years, Deborra-Lee Furness, who he calls “the greatest woman alive”.
In a recent interview on British talk show Lorraine, the 48-year-old actor gushed about his marriage to the Aussie actress-producer, revealing that they rarely spend more than two weeks apart.
“We always said we’d never spend more than two weeks apart. Sometimes life and work does get crazy,” he admitted, referring to the pair’s chaotic schedule. “But we’re best friends, and we share everything”.
Hugh appeared on Lorraine to promote his upcoming movie The Greatest Showman – a biographical musical drama about American showman P.T. Barnum. It’s no secret that Hugh has a great passion for musical theatre but it pales in comparison to the love he has for his partner in life.
“We met on my first job when she was already a big star, I was a nobody,” the Logan star told Lorraine, “So we have shared everything, all the ups and downs, and always will.”
Hugh met Deborra in 1995 when they both starred in Australian TV show Correlli, and just a year later the pair got hitched in Toorak, Victoria. The couple has adopted two children, a son Oscar Maximillian (born May 2000), and a daughter Ava Eliot (born July 2005).
Despite being husband of the year and a committed family man, the former Oscar host has a busy year ahead, with The Greatest Showman set to open Christmas Day 2017. The actor, who plays the aforementioned P.T. Barnum, stars in the movie alongside Zac Efron and Michelle Williams.
