If Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill” was one of your first CDs (or last cassette tapes!), then this might make you feel a little old.
Celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album, Alanis Morissette, who is celebrating her 41st birthday this year will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the 44th annual JUNO Awards, airing on Sunday, March 15.
“It is an honour to be honoured by my home country that I adore so much,” Morissette says.
With a career spanning nearly three decades, a string of chart-topping albums and accolades that include: 13 JUNOs, seven Grammys and two Golden Globe nominations, the honour is all ours.

The Ottawa-born singer/songwriter’s popularity grew in Canada, where the album was certified 12-times platinum and produced chart toppers: “Hand In My Pocket”, “Head Over Feet”, “You Learn” and of course, “Ironic”. The success from JLP propelled Morissette into the spotlight where she released five more albums in six years.
Selling over 60 million albums worldwide and winning over 25 awards, Morissette is also an avid supporter of female empowerment and has been very vocal on parenting when it comes to her three-year-old son, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, from her marriage to rapper Mario Treadway.
Working on a reissue of “Jagged Little Pill” to coincide with its 20th anniversary, as well as creating a stage musical inspired by the album, it seems that we’ll have lots to look forward to from Alanis Morissette.
ET Canada’s Canadian Star Of The Week will be inducted into the Canadian Hall Of Fame during the 44th annual JUNO Awards broadcast, Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET from the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.
