Jillian Harris may not have found lasting love on her season of “The Bachelorette”, but love finally came for her last Christmas when her now fiancee Justin Pasutto proposed to her.
At the time, Jillian posted a simple message on Instagram announcing the engagement.
Now, after six months, Jillian has finally shared the full story of how her husband-to-be popped the question.

In a post on her personal website, Jillian describes how a Christmas morning proposal had always been her dream. Justin had intended to propose on Christmas Eve, but a change of plans meant Jillian’s parents would be there in time.
“Justin was considering proposing to me on New Years or my birthday instead,” Jillian writes, “but then he realized this was something Iāve wanted on Christmas morning for SUCH a long time ā¦ and he was afraid that if a ring wasnāt under the tree for yet ANOTHER Christmasā¦ I might just have a colossal holiday meltdown lol.”
Jillian has been pushing for the engagement for quite a while. “Even though I knew Justin thought it was cheesy it didnāt stop me from pressuring him every single Christmas to do it!! Hell, I like to be stubborn too,” Jillian says.
Even still, the engagement came as a beautiful surprise.
“So fast forward to Christmas morning ā¦ Iām in bed and Justin is up roaming around the hotel room (which is strange in the first place because Iām ALWAYS the first one up!) ā¦ His original plan was to do it later that morning but I think he started getting nervous so he had the urge to do it RIGHT AWAY.”
Unfortunately for Justin, Jillian didn’t clue into what was going on right away.
“Justinās plan was that he would put the ring box in the macaroon box and then get me to open it up! Pretty easy task, right? Wrong. LOL!!”
It took some work, but finally Jillian opened the box.
“And then I openedĀ the box ā¦ I just remember staring at the ring and being so confused and thinking it was a joke or that I was being punked ā¦ and then it hit me ā¦ HOLY SH*T ā¦ THIS IS HAPPENING. NOW. ON CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! HOLY F*CK!!!!! HE DID IT!!!! OMG OMG OMG ā¦ GET THE BABY, IāM NOT DRESSED, I LOOK LIKE A DISASTER, OMG HE IS PROPOSING, SAY YES SAY YES ā¦ WHEREāS THE BABY!”
The wedding might not come for a while, and the couple are talking about having a second child in the meantime, but for now, Jillian is just glad to be engaged. “I honestly couldnāt believe that I had a ring on my finger that morning,” she says.”
