SPOILER ALERT: Warning! Reading ahead will reveal all the details about tonight’s “Bachelor’ finale; if you haven’t seen it yet, this WILL ruin it for you, so read no further because there are MAJOR spoilers ahead!
Admitting he fell in love with both Becca Tilley and Whitney Tischoff, Iowa farmer Chris Soules struggled with his decision until the final moments of tonight’s Bachelor finale. “I was so stressed out,”; Chris admitted, with host Chris Harrison confirming “he was really a wreck. Tears, temper tantrums…”;
However, the host also admitted that Chris was stressed for the right reasons: “He really put everything he had [into his decision],”; he said. “He isn’t a Juan Pablo. He wanted to walk away with a wife.”;
Before making his choice, Chris brought both women to his hometown of Arlington, Iowa, to meet his family. “My family and their opinions mean so much to me,”; Chris wrote on his Bachelor blog. “Bringing the girls home to meet them was definitely something I needed to help me in the conclusion of this journey.”;
Once he had the women in Iowa, he admitted, “It’s pretty cool to be back here in a place that’s pretty close to home,”; he said. “This is where a big part of my life was spent and a place I’m really proud of.”;
The anxiety and indecision continued while he picked out the ring. “I think that any man that’s ever proposed to a woman, if you didn’t sit and question, “Is this the one that you’re meant to be with for the rest of your life?’ then I don’t think you’re human,”; said Chris. “Should I even go down that road? Should I even let myself make a decision like this in the type of crazy state of mind I’m in right now?”;
But since this is The Bachelor, not Sister Wives, Chris can present his final rose to only one woman.
And that woman is…
Whitney!
“Everything about this moment feels right,”; said Chris before dropping to one knee and popping the question inside his chilly Iowa barn. “Will you marry me?”; he asked.
Her answer?
“Absolutely!”; she responded as he slid the stunning diamond on her finger.
“I’m the luckiest girl in the entire world,”; gushed Whitney. “This is the most amazing moment of my entire life…we’re engaged!”;
Later, during the After the Final Rose special, Jimmy Kimmel dropped by to give the couple a special gift: a cow named Juan Pablo.
As unexpected as that was, the big news came with Chris Harrison’s Bachelorette announcement, which was a bombshell when he admitted fans and producers alike were equally divided between Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe, resulting in — for the first time in the show’s history — two Bachelorettes.
Not only will Britt and Kaitlyn be dating their way through multiple men, they’ll also be competing against each other while doing it, which should put a whole new spin on the format when The Bachelorette returns later this spring.
