Johnny Depp was injured while in Australia filming the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Variety confirms the actor sustained an injury to his hand and will be flown back to the U.S. for surgery. The accident did not take place on set.
Although Johnny may be absent for several weeks, the production is expected to be minimally affected, with numerous scenes slated to be shot around his character, Captain Jack Sparrow. The film’s release date remains fixed at July 7, 2017.
