“Dancing With the Stars”‘ Peta Murgatroyd exchanged vows on Saturday with fellow dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
The couple got married in a beautiful, non-denominational ceremony at 127-room Oheka Castle in Huntingon, New York, usmagazine.com reported. “It was everything we ever dreamt of,” said Chmerkovskiy. “And the party of the year!” added Murgatroyd
Murgatroyd’s mother carried the couple’s 6-month-old son Shai down the aisle. The bride wore a dress she purchased on her trip to Ukraine, Chmerkovskiy’s native country, and entered to music from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite”. “I danced ballet for 16 years, so it’s my favourite album,” Mergatroyd said.
Guests at the wedding including a number fellow “Dancing With the Stars”, including Nyle DiMarco, Chmerkovskiy’s brother Val, and bridesmaids Sharna Burgess and Rumer Willis.
DiMarco shared a romantic moment following the ceremony on his Instagram story, captioning the video, “Brb crying.”
“It’s going to be an epic dance party for the ages,” Chmerkovskiy said before the wedding. “The second we get married and there’s a broken glass, it’s going to be wild!” Nearly 300 guests attended with lavish reception, which was hosted in the castle’s main ballroom, and featuring a five-course meal and 15-person band.
The couple have been an off-and-on item since 2012, but Chmerkovskiy said, “I’m looking forward to solidifying what all these years have been going to. I couldn’t wait to call her my wife.”
