It is a war of words of between Neil Patrick Harris and James Woods on Twitter.
On Monday, Woods took to Twitter and shared a picture a family celebrating pride with their gender-nonconforming child. In the photo, the family has signs that read “I <3 my gender creative son!” and “My son wears dresses & makeup … Get over it!”
“This is sweet. Wait until this poor kid grows up, realizes what you’ve done, and stuffs both of you dismembered into a freezer in the garage,” Woods tweeted.
On Tuesday, Neil Patrick Harris clapped back at Woods with a tweet of his own. Harris shared that he is not only friends with the family in the photo but that he is ashamed of him for the transphobic response.
“Utterly ignorant and classless, Mr. Woods. I’m friends with his family. You know not of what you speak, and should be ashamed of yourself,” Harris wrote.
On Wednesday, Woods fired back, defending his controversial tweet and adding that he supports all “human rights.” He writes that his tweets against the family have nothing to do with homophobia, adding that he has “more gay friends than Liberace.” Instead, he likens supporting a “gender creative” son to “child abuse.”
This isn’t the first time Woods has found himself in hot water with the LGBTQ community after his comments.
When Anderson Cooper infamously rolled his eyes at Kellyanne Conway during their interview, Woods shared the GIF of the moment. “As his butt plug dislodges during a newscast,” Woods said about his eye roll in the since deleted tweet.
