The Canadian Country Music Association has announced its final CCMA Award nominees, with Dean Brody, Brett Kissel, and James Barker Band each holding an impressive five nods.
According to a press release on Wednesday, nominations have been announced in a total of 34 categories, eight of which will be presented during the televised 2017 CCMA Awards Show, to be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on September 10.

This marks James Barker Band’s first CCMA Award nominations, which include the following five nods: Album of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year, Rising Star, Single of the Year, and Video of the Year. The band’s lead singer, James Barker, has also been nominated for Songwriters of the Year for his co-written single, “Chills”.
Meanwhile, Dean Brody’s nominations include Apple Music Fans’ Choice, Album of the Year, Single of the Year, Video of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for “Time”. Similarly, Brett Kissel is up for Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Video of the Year, Interactive Artist of the Year, and Songwriters of the Year for “Cool With That”.

ET Canada was the first to announce the 2017 Apple Music Fans’ Choice Award nominees, which is voted on by country music fans. This year’s nominees include male country-music powerhouses Gord Bamford, Dean Brody, Chad Brownlee, High Valley and Dallas Smith.
Fans can vote for their favourite Canadian country music act by visiting fanvote.ccma.org, applemusic.com/CCMAawards, or taking to social media using a hashtag of their choice. The winner will be announced during the show.
