“Game of Thrones” finally returns this Sunday but if three days is still too long a wait, then this incredible Drake/Thrones mixtape might make it go by a little faster.
“Views From The Throne” is a mashup like no other, created by Detroit-based rapper/producer Tony K, the ten-track mixtape combines Drake’s cool and collected flow with the fantasy drama’s cinematic soundtrack. The results are surprisingly effective.

If you’ve ever wanted to hear the Canadian rapper spitting bars over Season 2’s ominous “Valar Morghulis,” then this is the mixtape for you. Or if you were hoping to hear a remix of the show’s iconic main titles theme featuring Kanye West, Eminem, and Lil Wayne, then what are you waiting for?
It’s not the first time “Game of Thrones” has been given a hip-hop makeover. On a Season 2 dvd commentary track, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Isaac Hempstead Wright (who play three of the Stark children), remixed the title music with an impromptu beatbox/freestyle rap.
It’s unclear if Drake has heard the new mixtape himself yet, but the “One Dance” hitmaker is a self-confessed fan of the HBO epic, referencing the infamous Red Wedding scene on the track “You & The 6” from his 2015 album “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.”
“I pull the knife out my back and cut they throat with it, momma
I’m Game of Thrones with it, momma.”
Tony K previously released a similar hip-hop/’Thrones’ mashup with 2-Pac at the helm. You can download both mixtapes for free at Tony K’s website.
