Monday marks the 10th anniversary of “Dancing With The Stars”; and as well, the dancing debut of Canadian business mogul Robert Herjavec! ET Canada was exclusively invited to check out the “Shark Tank”; star and partner Kym Johnson’s rehearsal ahead of the big night!
“This isn’t my element, so I’m a Shark out of water…”; Robert jokes.
Opening up, Herjavec explains that while he might feel comfortable in the “Shark Tank”;, he definitely needs some guidance when it comes to the dance floor.
“When I first met Kym, she said “show me how you dance at a wedding,'”; Robert says with a laugh, “I don’t.”; Continuing, he jokes that when he’s at a club, he’s not dancing he’s “buying the drinks.”;
Robert admits that it’s this reason he might need a little more practice before Monday night’s big debut.
“One time she did a spin and I grabbed her [on her arm] and I let go and you could see my fingerprints in her arm,”; he says. To which Kym says, “yeah, just loosen the grip a little.”;
Robert’s got big shoes to fill considering one of Kym’s past students was fellow shark – Mark Cuban!
“Mark’s going to hate me for saying this, but I think that Robert is going to do better than Mark,”; Johnson tells us adding, “Sorry Mark.”;
Although that might seem like a lot of pressure from a tough teacher, Robert tells us why now is the perfect time for him to dive head first into a new project.
“This couldn’t have come at a better time in my life for me,”; Herjavec says of his divorce from his wife of 25 years, “I’m just trying to stay positive and Kym’s yelling at me a lot and that’s a little negative but I’m getting used to it.”;
