Ryan Gosling is on the run through a future California in the new trailer for “Blade Runner 2049”.
The trailer for the sci-fi sequel set 30 years after “Blade Runner” premiered Monday on “Good Morning America”, showing off gorgeous visuals, a classic-sounding electronic score and a better look at what’s in store for Gosling’s detective character as he tries to uncover a devious plot threatening society.
Gosling plays Officer K, who’s sent to find Deckard, who’s been missing for 30 years and is played once again by Harrison Ford. The two must face off against the powerful corporation which has been creating human-like replicants.
Jared Leto plays the villainous head of the corporation, Neander Wallace, who has some scary ideas about the future of humanity. “Replicants are the future, but I can only make so many,” he says ominously in the trailer.
