Rob Lowe Paddleboards With Great White Sharks Off The Coast Of Santa Barbara

Rob Lowe is swimming with the sharks. Literally.

The 53-year-old star was paddleboarding with his son in Santa Barbara when he noticed a group of small great white sharks swimming in the area. Instead of getting as far away as possible, Lowe decided to go right to them.

“I’m in the water all the time, fishing, surfing. You hear about them, never seen one,” Lowe told TMZ, who managed to capture it all on camera.

Though Lowe pointed out that they’re bigger than his board, he noted that he wasn’t scared because the sharks weren’t big enough to feed on humans, though he still wouldn’t want to fall in the water.

Lowe also tweeted about his adventure with the great whites, and shared his own video on Instagram.

The timing of all this couldn’t be more perfect, given that Discovery’s “Shark Week” is about to kick off July 23.
