Prince William And Kate Middleton Get Competitive With Pretzels And Rowing On Royal Tour Of Germany

Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton look like they’re having a blast on their royal tour of Germany. The royal couple have been sharing a laugh and some friendly competition when it comes to seeing who has the better pretzel-making skills.

During a tour stop at an outdoor market in Heidelberg, Germany, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were put to the ultimate test to see who could roll a traditional pretzel like a champ. Judging from the photos, we’re giving this one to Duchess Kate, as Wills looks none-too-pleased with his imperfect treats.

The royal couple also donned plastic gloves to learn how to roll colourful, traditional hard candy, which Prince William looks to have had more success with, according to video released by Kensington Palace.

But don’t feel too badly for the pouting prince, since he ultimately had the last laugh when it came time to hit the water.

The friendly competition didn’t stop at pretzel-making as the Royals took to the river Neckar to each serve as coxswain in charge of steering a boat in a regatta with Wills’ crew ultimately coming in first.

When in Germany, the best way to celebrate a boat race win is of course with a toast with a local brew.

During their visit, the Royals also visited a children’s cancer research centre and made time to chat with children in the Heidelberg market.
