Fans of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington have been honouring the life of the singer who took his own life on Thursday by revisiting some of his best performances, including an impassioned cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep”.
The performance of the emotional song has resonated with fans in the wake of the 41-year-old’s death. Recorded at the 2011 iTunes Festival in London, the frontman introduces the rare performance of a cover by promising the crowd, “We’re going to do something very special for you guys.”
“This is something we don’t normally do. We’re gonna play a song by another artist. She’s a local, and hopefully we do it some justice,” he continues before launching into an a cappella opening that highlights his raw vocal talent.
Bennington hits all the right notes in the emotional ballad, joined on piano by Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda, as the crowd enthusiastically claps along.
