The “Stranger Things” panel kicked off with a bang on Saturday at Comic-Con in San Diego, showing anxious fans a first look at the long-awaited second season.
“Something’s coming,” declares a voiceover in the new trailer (above), which brings us back to Hawkins, Indiana in the mid-1980s, providing glimpses of the boys playing era-appropriate video game “Dragon’s Lair”, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) laying into a can of Coke with her paranormal powers and a peek inside the Upside Down.
Other highlights from the trailer include a peek at the kids dressed up as Ghostbusters for Halloween, Eleven cracking through the interdimensional door back into our world, and new cast member Sean Astin running down a hallway wearing surgeon’s scrubs.
One of the sillier moments from the session came courtesy of whoever had the job to create the name-card for panel moderator Patton Oswalt — whose surname was spelled “Oswald,” as Mashable points out.
Season two of “Stranger Things” will debut on Halloween 2017.
