Watch Ron Howard Narrate ‘Star Wars’ In ‘Arrested Development’ Mash-Up

Now the story of a movie franchise that lost its creative team and the one director who had no choice but to keep it all together.

It’s “Arrested Rebellion,” an excellent new mash-up video from Nerdist that sees director Ron Howard narrating classic “Star Wars” scenes in the style of “Arrested Development.”

The amazing parody video comes just a month after Howard was announced as the new director of the upcoming Han Solo spin-off – the movie’s original directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (“21 Jump Street”) parted ways with the project due to “creative differences.”

Nerdist’s mash-up takes full advantage of the situation, pairing iconic moments mostly from George Lucas’ original “Stars Wars” trilogy with soundbites of Howard’s narration from the Mitch Hurwitz sitcom “Arrested Development.” It quickly becomes apparent just how much the two franchises have in common: the corrupted father, oddly incestuous relationships, and severed arms.

The as-yet-untitled Han Solo movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Solo and will focus on the space smuggler’s origin story. The film also stars Woody Harrelson as Solo’s mentor and Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian. “Game of Thrones”‘ Emilia Clarke, Michael K. Williams, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge are also starring.

The film is scheduled to be released May 2018. Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed that “Arrested Development” will be returning for a fifth season.
