Jennifer Aniston And Reese Witherspoon’s New TV Series About Morning Shows To Stream On Apple

Jennifer Aniston is coming back to TV.

After The Hollywood Reporter announced this summer that Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are joining forces for a new TV series, it’s now been confirmed that the still-untitled series will stream on Apple, which has picked the show up for two seasons.

What’s the plot? The series centres around morning TV shows set in New York and all that goes on in front of and behind the camera. The idea for the show comes from the former head of HBO Michael Ellenberg.

According to Associated Press, the series is described by Apple as “an inside look at the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning, exploring the unique challenges faced by the women (and men) who carry out this daily televised ritual.”

The show is loosely based on Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV by Brian Stelter, CNN senior media correspondent, which delved into the bitter between NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America”.

Aniston and Witherspoon will also serve as executive producers on the series.

This marks Aniston’s first official full-time return to TV since “Friends” ended in 2004. Since then, Aniston has starred in box-office smashes like “We’re the Millers”, “Bruce Almighty” and “The Break-Up” and has had guest starring roles on “30 Rock” and “Cougar Town”.

Speaking of “Friends”, Witherspoon, of course, played Rachel Green’s younger sister Jill on the show in season six.

The Green sisters are together again.
