Garth Brooks Adds Six More Calgary Concerts, Breaks Ticket Sale Record

Tickets for Garth Brooks’ 2017 Calgary concerts have broken a sales record for his performances in the city that was set over a decade ago.

The country music superstar initially announced on July 19 that he would be performing in Calgary come September at a concert featuring his wife, singer Trisha Yearwood.

Then, on Friday, he revealed he would be performing a total of seven shows. The shows are as follows:

  • Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 2 at 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 9 at 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for all shows went on sale via Ticketmaster on Friday, July 28 at 10 a.m. MT and included an eight-ticket limit.

Tickets for the concerts, which are part of Brooks’ current world tour, cost $79.98 each including taxes and a $6.25 service charge.

According to a spokesperson for the Scotiabank Saddledome, Brooks’ Calgary ticket sale record was set Aug. 7 to 9, 1996 with 53,076 tickets sold for the Saddledome.

On Friday, it took just 37 minutes for him to sell over 57,000 tickets.

The seven shows were sold out by 3 p.m. MT.

In February, Edmonton was host to nine sold-out Garth Brooks concerts at Rogers Place, which generated $42 million for the city’s economy, according to the Oilers Entertainment Group.
