Frank Ocean’s Anti-Bigotry T-Shirt Captures Attention At Concert, And Fans Love It

Frank Ocean performed Friday night at the Panorama Music Festival in New York City, and the Grammy-winning rapper garnered nearly as much attention for his attire as he did for his intimate performance.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, Ocean was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the words “Why be racist, sexist, homophobic or transphobic when you could just be quiet?”

The shirt, notes EW, is available from Green Box Shop and retails for $18.99. “This shirt addresses how hate speech will not be tolerated by the ‘tolerant left,'” reads the product description.

While he never addressed it specifically during the show, many assumed the openly gay rapper’s message was aimed at President Donald Trump, who on Wednesday morning issued a Twitter directive stating that transgender people will no longer be permitted “to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military.”

Many fans who saw the shirt took to social media to offer their thoughts about Ocean’s statement, and the response was overwhelmingly positive:

One fan of note also took to social media to share his opinion of Ocean’s performance, with Justin Timberlake describing the set as “Personal. Intimate. Beautiful.”
