Foo Fighters Joined By Perry Farrell For Jane’s Addiction Cover At Epic Club Show

Foo Fighters surprised fans earlier this week by announcing an intimate performance at Chicago’s Metro club, and those who were lucky enough to snag tickets to the Friday night show were in for an even bigger surprise when the band delivered an “Everlong” performance, playing 32 songs over the course of three-and-a-half hours.

“Tonight we’re gonna try and break our record for longest show ever,” frontman Dave Grohl told the crowd of about 1,100, reports Stereogum. “So I hope you brought comfortable shoes.”

Along with a sampling of Foo Fighters hits, the epic performance also included covers of the Rolling Stones’ “Miss You,” Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure,” The Faces’ “Stay With Me,” Tom Petty’s “Breakdown,” AC/DC’s “Let There Be Rock,” and Jane’s Addiction’s “Mountain Song” — featuring special guest Perry Farrell, Jane’s Addiction singer and founder of the Lollapalooza festival.

During the show, reports Stereogum, the band debuted a new song, “Sunday Rain” (featuring drummer Taylor Hawkins on vocals), which Grohl revealed will be on the band’s upcoming “Concrete and Gold”, featuring Paul McCartney on drums.
