One Republic may playoff the fact that their music is successful, but with two of their last three albums going platinum, the facts don’t lie.
“I don’t know if you know, we only make platinum records,” Ryan Tedder tells Erin Cebula, laughing. “I’m just kidding.”;
The band exclusively performed for us in the Orange Lounge, and now they’re returning to Canada again for the next leg of their tour, beginning in Quebec City on April 18. And with a fourth studio album underway, the band admits that narrowing down the song selection is always a major challenge for any record.
“Our kids and wives are really harsh critics,”; says Zachary Filkins, when asked how songs make it to the album.
Adds Tedder, “Not everyone has to love every song equally in the band, but everybody has to at least like it enough to want to play it.”;
