Well, we didn’t see this one coming. Chris Pratt and Anna Faris are calling it quits.
In a post uploaded to Pratt’s Facebook and Faris’ Instagram Sunday evening, signed by both of them, the couple writes: “We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
The split is especially surprising since the couple — who are parents to son Jack, who will turn five this month — always appeared very much in love on red carpets and social media, often prompting fans to call them #CoupleGoals. In April, when Pratt received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Faris posted on Instagram saying, “I couldn’t be more proud to call you my husband today.”
The pair married in the summer of 2009 after meeting on the set of the 2007 movie, “Take Me Home Tonight.” In a 2015 appearance on “The Late Late Show”, Faris told host James Corden about the first time she went to Pratt’s apartment and how they bonded over their mutual collections of dead bugs, saying, “I started to cry,” adding, “I’ve met the man of my dreams.”
Anna Faris is currently shooting the fifth season of her CBS sitcom, “Mom” while Chris Pratt will appear next year in the “Jurassic World” sequel in addition to reprising his role as Star Lord in next year’s “Avengers: Infinity War.”
