Arcade Fire’s Win Butler Taking ‘An Extended Break’ From Twitter

Everyone needs a break sometimes, including one from social media.

Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler announced in a tweet Monday that he’d be taking “an extended break” from Twitter.

There’s no indication of when Butler might come back to Twitter, but for now, he’s busy playing concerts with Arcade Fire and promoting their new album, “Everything Now”, which last week debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart.

The break from Twitter also coincides with the promotional campaign, which has involved odd stunts such as a T-shirt line parodying Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s controversial line, and a strangely demanding dress code for their concertgoers.

Some Arcade Fire fans have registered their sadness at the news Butler would be stepping away from Twitter.

Others, meanwhile, were simply supportive.
