The 1989 mega-seller’s name pops up a number of times on the freshly announced nomination slate for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. Taylor’s up for such prizes as: Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Hot 100 Song (for “Shake It Off”;) and Top Female Artist. We haven’t spoken with oddsmakers, but we like Taylor’s chances to exit the ceremony with something more than a gift bag.
The big nomination reveal is only partially completed. Five categories had their contenders announced on Good Morning America and the rest will tumble out around 12:30 p.m. E.T. Other nominees making the cut include Sam Smith, Katy Perry and Drake.
This year’s Billboard Music Awards will take place on May 17 in Las Vegas with Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen serving as co-hosts. Best to steady yourself for LudaChrissy jokes ahead of time. That’s our advice. Speaking of things to expect on the broadcast, Fall Out Boy have revealed they’ll be giving the song “Uma Thurman”; its TV debut with special guest Wiz Khalifa as part of the package.
