Tell your “Friends”, Justin Bieber has new music out right now!
Bieber and repeat collaborator BloodPop have introduced the world to their latest effort “Friends”, a potential club hit with a banging rhythm released through Republic Records.
Canada’s own music superstar informed the world via Instagram and Twitter of his new single “Friends” on Sunday. “Can we still be friends…” he ominously tweeted before letting the cat out of the bag.
“New music. Thursday noon,” the 23-year-old captioned artwork of the new single on Instagram. The new track is a collaboration with musician and record producer BloodPop, who was one of the main producers for Lady Gaga’s “Joanne” and has produced songs for John Legend, Britney Spears, Fifth Harmony, Major Lazer, Beyonce and Madonna. He is also the creative mind behind GENPOP, an artist driven consortium for generation pop.
BloodPop was also the producer for Bieber’s megahit “Sorry” off the Canadian’s triple-platinum and three-time Grammy Award-nominated album “Purpose”!
Bieber has not released a solo album since 2015’s “Purpose”, but he has kept himself very busy. A series of high-profile collaborations have kept the singer’s name hovering around the charts with hits like: “Cold Water” with Major Lazer and MO, DJ Snake’s “Let Me Love You”, DJ Khaled’s “I’m The One,” David Guetta’s dance floor anthem “2U” and the heavily-played Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee Latin crossover hit “Despacito”.
The “Despacito” Remix has reigned at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for a record 14 consecutive weeks, shattering global records for the most-streamed song of all time in the process. The success of “Despacito” and “The One” rewarded Bieber with the honour of being the first artist ever to tally new number ones on the Hot 100 in consecutive weeks.
He recently made headlines for cancelling the remainder of his “Purpose” World Tour.
