Vin Diesel may be sitting pretty atop the world’s number one movie at the moment, but it seems a Beastie Boy has just taken him down a few pegs.
Here’s the set-up: during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Furious 7 star revealed he used to dance for the legendary hip hop trio.
“They lived in my neighborhood and I was breakdancing on the street,”; Vin explained. “I wanted to get into a club called Danceteria and I was 16 years old and they said, “Come on, you’re gonna be our dancer.’ Then I got in free every night after that.”;
A fantastic tale to be sure, with just once glitch: Beastie Boys alum Adam “Ad-Rock’ Horovitz says it’s a load of hooey.
Appearing on Monday’s Late Night with Seth Meyers, Adam felt obliged to poke a hole or three in Vin’s story.
“I don’t wanna start a whole thing,”; the 48-year-old said, “but I did see on the internets [that] Vin Diesel… claimed on Jimmy Kimmel’s show last week that he was a breakdancer for Beastie Boys, and he was not! No, he Vanilla Iced. He straight Vanilla Iced.”;
Adam added, “He said that we saw him on the street breakdancing and were like, [waving him over] “Come on!’ I’ve never seen anybody on the street I didn’t know and said, “Come on!’ That never happened.”;
Your move, Vin: care to set the record straight?
