Jack Black got a little carried away on “The Gong Show”.

The Tenacious D lead vocalist and Jennifer Aniston were guest judges this past Monday on Will Arnett’s summer amateur talent show “The Gong Show”. Black, 47, got a little ahead of himself during a slapstick piano duet.

The guest judges wrestled their way over to the show’s giant gong so Black could partake in some good ol’ clobbering. Black hurled a mallet at the oversized gong, only for the prop to ricochet and almost clobber Aniston upside the head.

“That almost ended tragically,” Black told producer and show host Arnett after checking on the “Friends” actress. “Did you see that!?”Aniston exclaimed. “My life almost ended.” Black seemed genuinely concerned for his fellow guest judge, but Arnett couldn’t help but chuckle when the “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” said “it almost took her head off.”

Chances are Aniston didn’t sign up for flying mallets to the noggin!

“The Gong Show”, a revival of the 1976 syndicated show, regularly airs Thursday nights and has featured famous guest judges like Aniston’s old pal Courteney Cox, Andy Samberg, Elizabeth Banks and more.
