Patty Jenkins has officially signed on to direct the “Wonder Woman” follow-up movie and she will make history too!

The first film was a huge box-office and critical success, earning more than $400 million at the domestic box-office and garnering a certified fresh Rotten Tomatoes rating from critics.

Warner Bros. has finally reached a deal with Jenkins to direct “Wonder Woman 2” after an unusually long negotiation, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. The film is scheduled for release on December 13, 2019.

The new agreement is big for Jenkins, who is about to become the highest-paid female director ever. While the exact amount hasn’t been disclosed, sources say that based on her peers like Zack Snyder (director of “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”), Jenkins could earn a reported $7 to $9 million for directing and writing fees.

The 2017 “Wonder Woman” broke a lot of records over the summer. Not only did it become the third highest grossing Warner Bros. movie after “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises”, but Gal Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” became the highest grossing movie ever for a female director.
