Relive Jerry Lewis’ Last Telethon Performance Of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’

Jerry Lewis passed away on Sunday, but his famous string of telethons can forever be cherished.

Lewis, 91 at the time of his death, performed wore many hats. He was an actor, comedian, singer, director, screenwriter and a humanitarian.

The man of many talents may best be remembered, however, for hosting his eponymous Labor Day telethon to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Lewis first hosted the telecast in 1966 with some events lasting 21-and-a-half hours. Donations for the telethon totaled more than $2 billion by the time Lewis parted ways with the company in 2011.

His last ever telethon was in 2010 and Lewis bid audiences farewell with an emotional, touching performance of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from “Carousel”.

Lewis died at his home in Las Vegas at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.
