There is a pot of gold at the end of Kesha’s latest album “Rainbow”.
Kesha, 30, claimed her second number one album on the Billboard 200 following the release of “Rainbow” on Aug. 11. The recording artist’s latest effort sold 116,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 17.
“Rainbow” also earned the accolade of second-largest week for an album by a woman in 2017. Kesha only falls short of Katy Perry, whose album “Witness” launched with 180,000 units and 162,000 in sales.
Taking second place is Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.”, which recently scored its fourth nonconsecutive week at the top spot. Number three this week is DJ Khaled’s “Grateful”.
A jolt of energy in the higher echelon, up-and-coming sensation Khalid jumped from 10th to fourth with his debut album “American Teen”. The “Young Dumb & Broke” singer debuted at number nine six months ago and has managed to hold a spot within the top 25 every week since.
And performing exceptionally well at the tail end of the top five, rapper Moneybagg Yo’s new release, “Federal 3X”, moves 30,000 units.
