Production is in full gear for the second season of “Mary Kills People” — the compelling drama joining Global‘s epic winter 2018 lineup. The critically acclaimed show also has a few fresh faces joining last season’s cast.
Canadians Rachelle Lefevre and Ian Lake join returning stars Caroline Dhavernas, Jay Ryan, and Richard Short. Season two of “Mary Kills People” will film a six-part, one-hour event series in and around Toronto this fall.
The vice-president of original content at Corus Entertainment, Lisa Godfrey, said, “We are thrilled to partner with eOne and Cameron Pictures Inc. once again to deliver viewers a dynamic second season of this critically acclaimed, character-driven series,” in a statement.
“We are so proud of the first season of this remarkable series,” Jocelyn Hamilton, president of eOne Television Canada, added. “Working with our great partners at Global and Cameron Pictures Inc. we can’t wait to start filming the second season that not only ups the ante but adds even more drama for all things ‘Mary’.”
The show’s new season focuses on Mary (Caroline Dhavernas) as she plummets deeper into the criminal world for a steady supply of a highly regulated and highly lethal “death drug.” Her obsession continues to jeopardize her family and medical career.
